What We do

At Art Bug Club our mission is simple. To make great art that children can feel proud to take home with them. We also want children to have as much fun in the process as is possible. We believe that even very young children are capable of learning how to draw and paint with accuracy and skill. Teaching takes place through a series of demonstrations given by the tutor in which children are taken through a step by step process of building an image.

We use a full range of different materials from acrylic paint to plaster and clay. Each term we pick a different theme to explore. We look at a range of different artists and art practices during the course of each project and work towards creating exciting, fully realised pieces of work.

Our Ethos

At Art Bug our intention is to nurture the child’s natural inclination to look at things closely. We encourage students to focus upon the details of things; the veins of a leaf, the pattern on a tea cup. We look and then we draw or paint what we see. In so doing, we hope that children will retain their sense of awe and wonder about the world around them and learn how to appreciate what they can achieve with a bit of guidance.
